Q3 product spotlight: New testing options and smarter operations

Sano genetic testing kit

At Sano, our mission is to accelerate precision medicine research through technology, making it easier for sponsors to run trials efficiently and effectively. Each quarter, we highlight the innovations that bring us closer to that goal. In this 2025 Q3 Product Spotlight, our Senior Product Manager walks through the latest updates designed to make research more efficient, scalable, and participant-centric.

Smarter operations with KitLink

KitLink, our in-house system for biomarker and genetic testing, continues to evolve. This quarter, we focused on strengthening reliability and predictability, ensuring smoother handoffs, fewer failure points, and faster visibility into issues. These improvements are especially critical for global, multi-site programs where operational efficiency directly impacts timelines.

Expanded sequencing and testing pathways

We also broadened the ways sponsors can conduct at-home and genetic testing:

  • At-home antibody testing: Through our partnership with TASSO, participants can self-collect blood samples, making the process faster, less intimidating, and more inclusive.

  • Polygenic risk scores: Support for aggregate genetic signals enables smarter pre-screening, cohort enrichment, and reduced spend on ineligible enrollments.

  • Repeat expansion sequencing: Critical for conditions like Huntington’s and ALS, this capability is now integrated alongside whole genome sequencing, enabling more comprehensive disease profiling without siloed protocols.

Looking ahead

Next quarter, we’ll be rolling out compliance upgrades such as e-signatures and audit trails, alongside smarter AI-driven workflows for program design, participant matching, and results segmentation. These enhancements will help sponsors scale internationally while keeping studies compliant, efficient, and participant-first.
