Whether or not you receive updates depends on the type of study. For studies run entirely on the Sano platform ‘Sano studies’ you will receive updates on the study in most circumstances - if you will not for any reason, we will make this clear.

For studies that are run in collaboration with external partners, we cannot always guarantee that you will receive updates, but we work hard with the partners to ensure that this is the case as much as possible.

If you change anything that affects your eligibility in this study after enrolling or being referred, this does not affect your status in the study because we use the eligibility information you provided at the time of referral/enrollment.

• Sano-Platform study
  These types of studies are completed entirely within the Sano platform, so no personal data (e.g. contact information) will be transferred out of the platform, unless clearly explained in the study information (for example where a study is being run alongside a partner organisation).
• Online study
  This study takes place entirely online. You do not need to leave your home to participate.
• University or non-profit study
  This study is being conducted by researchers at a University or non-profit organisation.
• Data stored on Sano
  Any personal information provided to this study will be stored on Sano and will not be transferred externally.
• Ethically approved
  Sano has confirmed that this research study has been reviewed and granted ethical approval by an Institutional Review Board or other independent body.
